Honor Magic9 Pro Max vs Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: Specs & Price

Two camera-first flagships, two very different launch stories: here is how the Magic9 Pro Max and Find X10 Pro Max compare on specs, price and availability.

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max and the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max are the two biggest camera-first flagships either company has built this year, and both lean on the same idea: triple 200-megapixel rear cameras, silicon-carbon or high-density batteries well past 7,500mAh, and periscope telephoto lenses aimed squarely at people who used to carry a separate camera. Honor's phone currently wins on raw battery size (8,800mAh vs 8,000mAh), peak charging speed (100W wired/80W wireless vs 80W wired/50W wireless) and durability certification (IP68/IP69/IP69K, officially listed, against no published IP rating for the Oppo), while Oppo counters with a Hasselblad-tuned camera trio that keeps a true ultra-wide in the mix and a confirmed, on-sale India price of ₹199,999 — something Honor hasn't matched with any global pricing yet, because the Magic9 Pro Max is still a China-only release.

Key takeaways
  • Honor Magic9 Pro Max is currently sold only in mainland China, from CNY 6,499 (12GB+256GB) to CNY 8,499 (16GB+1TB); Honor's global store does not list the Magic9 series yet.
  • Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is already on official pre-order in India at ₹199,999 (12GB+512GB, list price ₹239,999) and has official spec pages live in Vietnam and Saudi Arabia too.
  • Honor's 8,800mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging all beat Oppo's 8,000mAh/80W/50W figures.
  • Both phones use three 200MP rear sensors, but Oppo keeps a genuine ultra-wide (124° FOV) while Honor pairs its two 200MP sensors with a 50MP ultra-wide instead.
  • Honor publishes an official IP68/IP69/IP69K rating; Oppo's regional spec pages we checked (Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, India) do not list an ingress-protection figure for the Find X10 Pro Max.

Display: two near-identical 6.8-inch OLED panels

Both phones sit at the very top of the "giant-screen flagship" category, and on paper their displays are close enough that most people won't tell them apart in daily use. Honor's Magic9 Pro Max uses a 6.8-inch OLED panel Honor calls its "Ultimate Black Diamond Screen," with a resolution of 1320 x 2868 and a genuinely unusual peak brightness spec: 10,000 nits peak, 2,000 nits global peak, according to Honor's official spec page. That number is well above what most 2026 flagships publish and should translate into easier outdoor visibility in direct sun, assuming real-world brightness tracks the marketing figure.

Oppo's Find X10 Pro Max goes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel at 2772 x 1272 (roughly 450 PPI), an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate that Oppo says can push to 144Hz in supported games, 10-bit color, and Crystal Guard protective glass, per Oppo's official specs page. Oppo quotes 800 nits typical and 2,000 nits for HBM (high brightness mode) — lower than Honor's claimed global peak, though "typical" and "HBM" brightness figures aren't always measured the same way between brands, so this isn't a clean apples-to-apples number.

In short: Honor's panel is marginally larger and claims a much higher brightness ceiling; Oppo's panel supports a higher refresh-rate ceiling in specific content. Neither company's official page lists a sustained outdoor-brightness figure that would let us declare a clear winner here.

Chipset and performance: Snapdragon vs Dimensity

This is the cleanest divide between the two phones. The Magic9 Pro Max runs what Honor's own product page lists as the "sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme" platform — widely referred to in English-language coverage as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 — paired with Honor's self-developed Yuguang H1 imaging chip, a 6nm co-processor Honor says delivers 18.8 TOPS per watt specifically for camera and AI imaging tasks, separate from the main SoC.

The Find X10 Pro Max instead uses MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on a 2nm process with an eight-core CPU and an ARM Mali-G2-Ultra GPU clocked around 1.8GHz. Qualcomm and MediaTek's flagship chips have traded blows generation over generation, and without independently run benchmarks neither Honor's nor Oppo's own marketing claims should be taken as a verdict — we're not publishing lab results here, just what each company says about its own silicon. If raw GPU throughput and ray-tracing in mobile games matters most to you, MediaTek's 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro is the newer process node of the two; if you care more about Qualcomm's modem and camera-ISP track record, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is the safer assumption.

Both phones pair their chipsets with fast storage: Honor's official listings go up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, while Oppo's regional pages show 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM with up to 512GB (India, at launch) or 512GB UFS 4.1 (Vietnam/Saudi Arabia pages, which list 16GB+512GB as the top configuration shown). Neither brand's page we checked advertises a 1TB Find X10 Pro Max SKU, though regional availability for storage tiers can vary by market and may expand after launch. For background on how Qualcomm and MediaTek's architectures differ generationally, Wikipedia's Snapdragon entry is a useful neutral reference point.

Camera systems: three 200MP sensors, two different philosophies

Camera specs are where both companies are spending their marketing budget, and the official numbers reveal two different approaches to the same idea.

Honor Magic9 Pro Max (per Honor's official spec page):

  • Main: 200MP, 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57, OIS rated CIPA 8.0 with 3-axis gimbal-level stabilization
  • Telephoto: 200MP, 1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6, OIS rated CIPA 8.0
  • Ultra-wide: 50MP, f/2.0
  • Plus a dedicated 3D depth-sensing lens
  • Front: 55MP, 1/2.74-inch sensor, f/2.0

Notably, Honor's own page lists the telephoto aperture at f/2.6 — slower than some pre-launch press reports suggested — so we're going with the figure Honor itself publishes rather than earlier leaks. Honor also sells optional G200 and G500 teleconverter lens accessories for the Magic9 Pro Max, listed directly on its official store, which lines up with press coverage describing an available 500mm-equivalent reach when the add-on glass is attached (the phone's built-in telephoto does not natively reach 500mm on its own).

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max (per Oppo's official specs pages):

  • Wide (main): 200MP, f/1.5, 84° field of view, 2-axis OIS
  • Ultra-wide: 200MP, f/2.2, 124° field of view
  • Periscope telephoto: 200MP, f/2.1, 34° field of view, 2-axis OIS
  • Plus a 3.2MP multispectral sensor, f/2.4, 95° field of view, for color/light calibration
  • Front: 50MP, f/2.0, 100° field of view

Oppo's camera system, co-developed with Hasselblad branding visible across its official marketing pages, is the more symmetrical setup of the two: all three rear cameras are 200MP sensors, including the ultra-wide, which Honor's phone doesn't match (Honor's ultra-wide tops out at 50MP). If ultra-wide detail matters to you — architecture, landscapes, group shots at close range — Oppo's spec sheet has the edge on paper. If you care more about long-range zoom with available add-on optics, Honor's teleconverter ecosystem is the more unusual option on the market right now. Our sister comparison of the Find X10 vs the OnePlus 16 goes deeper on how Oppo's Hasselblad tuning behaves against another 200MP rival, if you want a second data point on the same camera hardware.

Battery and charging: Honor's numbers are simply bigger

This category isn't close, at least on the official spec sheets. The Magic9 Pro Max packs an 8,800mAh silicon-carbon cell — Honor's page specifies roughly 40% silicon content in the anode — with 100W wired charging (20V/5A Honor SuperCharge, backward compatible with 11V/6A, 20V/3.3A and 5V/2A standards) and 80W wireless charging, plus 27W wired and wireless reverse charging support.

Oppo's Find X10 Pro Max carries an 8,000mAh typical-capacity battery (7,790mAh rated, 29.76Wh/28.98Wh), charged at up to 80W wired via SUPERVOOC/UFCS (also compatible with 67W and lower SUPERVOOC, 44W UFCS, 55W PPS and 13.5W PD) and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, which Oppo's own India spec page lists as roughly 115 minutes for a full wireless charge.

Design and durability

Both phones land within a gram or two of 233-234g and around 8.4-8.6mm thick — large, dense phones by any measure, which tracks with batteries over 8,000mAh. Honor's official color lineup for the Magic9 Pro Max is Moss Green, Shadow Black and Silver (苔青, 影黑, 银盐 in Chinese retail listings); Oppo's Find X10 Pro Max ships in Moon/Luna White and Titanium Gray per its regional store pages.

The clearest documented difference is water and dust resistance. Honor's spec page explicitly states the Magic9 Pro Max is rated IP69K under ISO 20653:2023 and IP68/IP69 under China's GB/T 4208-2017 standard, with the standard caveat that this isn't a permanent or professional waterproofing guarantee and doesn't cover liquid damage under warranty. Oppo's official Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and India spec pages that we checked do not publish an IP rating for the Find X10 Pro Max at all — that's not the same as saying it has none, but on the pages we could verify, no ingress-protection figure is listed, so we're not going to guess one. If durability claims matter to your buying decision, it's worth going straight to the source rather than trusting a roundup: Honor's full IP-rating disclaimer, including the ISO and GB/T standards it tested against, is on its own Magic9 Pro Max product page.

Software and update commitments

The Magic9 Pro Max ships on MagicOS 11, built on Android 17, per Honor's official product page. The Find X10 Pro Max ships on ColorOS 17, also Android 17-based, per Oppo's specs pages. Neither official page we reviewed for this piece listed a specific number of years of OS or security update commitments for these exact models, so we're not publishing a figure — check each brand's own support pages in your region before buying if guaranteed update length is a dealbreaker for you.

Price and availability: a China launch vs a live India pre-order

This is the most lopsided part of the comparison, and it's about market timing rather than hardware. The Magic9 Pro Max launched in China on official sale through Honor's own store, with four confirmed configurations: CNY 6,499 for 12GB+256GB, CNY 6,999 for 12GB+512GB, CNY 7,499 for 16GB+512GB, and CNY 8,499 for 16GB+1TB, plus a CNY 10,999 "Photography Master Kit" bundling the 16GB+1TB model with extra camera accessories. As of this writing, Honor's global storefront (honor.com/global) does not list the Magic9 series at all — only older Magic8 Pro, Magic7 Pro and Magic V-series foldables appear there — so there is no official international price or release date to report yet. Treat any non-China price you see for the Magic9 Pro Max as a conversion or a leak, not an announced figure, until Honor confirms a global rollout.

Oppo, by contrast, already has the Find X10 Pro Max listed for pre-order directly on its official India store, at a sale price of ₹199,999 against a list price of ₹239,999 for the 12GB+512GB configuration, with that pricing stated as valid through the end of November 2026. Oppo's Vietnam and Saudi Arabia product pages are also live with full specs, though neither of those two pages displayed a retail price at the time we checked. We did not find an official China price listed directly on an Oppo-owned page during our research; third-party market trackers have cited a China launch price in the CNY 6,000-7,000 range, but since we couldn't confirm that figure on oppo.com or press.oppo.com ourselves, we're flagging it explicitly as unconfirmed rather than stating it as fact.

Which should you buy?

If you're shopping where both are actually available, the decision mostly comes down to three things: battery and charging headroom, ultra-wide camera quality, and documented durability. Honor's Magic9 Pro Max wins outright on battery capacity, wired charging speed, wireless charging speed, and published IP rating — if those are your priorities and you're comfortable buying through China-focused import or grey-market channels (since there's no official global sale yet), it's the stronger spec sheet on paper. Oppo's Find X10 Pro Max wins on camera symmetry (a real 200MP ultra-wide, not a 50MP one), a slightly thinner body, and — critically — it's the one you can actually order today in markets like India through Oppo's own store, with a real, stated price rather than a China-only listing. If you want a flagship you can buy right now from an official regional storefront with a clear price, Oppo currently has the more accessible launch. If you're willing to wait for (or import around) a global Honor release and want the bigger battery and faster charging, the Magic9 Pro Max is worth tracking. For a sense of how these same trade-offs have played out in other recent flagship match-ups, see our comparison of the OnePlus 15 vs the Pixel 11 Pro.

What to watch next

The two open questions that will actually decide this comparison for most readers are timing questions, not spec questions: when (or if) Honor brings the Magic9 Pro Max to a global storefront with an official international price, and whether Oppo expands the Find X10 Pro Max beyond its current India pre-order and regional spec-only listings into more markets with confirmed pricing. We'll update this piece once either company publishes new regional availability. Until then, buyers outside China and India are choosing between a phone they can order today with a stated price (Find X10 Pro Max) and one with a stronger spec sheet but no confirmed path to their market yet (Magic9 Pro Max).
