Sourcing

Facts, figures, dates, prices and specifications in our stories come from primary sources: the company’s own announcement, newsroom, documentation or specification page; vendor security advisories and the CVE record; regulators, courts and public filings; and peer-reviewed or preprint research. We link to those sources in the text and list them at the end of each article.

We do not publish quotes we cannot attribute to a named person and a published statement, transcript or interview. We do not present other outlets’ testing or reporting as our own; when we rely on someone else’s published results we name them.

Rumours and leaks

When a story involves unconfirmed information, we label it as a rumour or leak, say what kind of source it comes from, and state clearly what the company has and has not confirmed. We update the story when official information arrives.

Images and video

Featured images are official product or press images published by the company concerned, and each is credited in its caption. Embedded videos come from the official channel of the company or developer. Posts from social networks are embedded only when the post itself is the news.

Updates

Technology changes quickly. When we materially update a story, such as a new price, a new version or a new patch, we change the article and show an updated date alongside the original publication date.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and, where the error was material, add a note to the article explaining what changed. To report an error, use our contact page and include the article link.

Independence

Advertisers and partners have no say over what we cover or what we write. Any sponsored content or paid placement will be clearly labelled as such. We do not accept payment for coverage.

We link to official sources, documentation and standards bodies so readers can verify what we report. Links to third-party sites do not imply endorsement.
