Telltale and co-publisher PM Studios confirmed the launch window across their own storefront listings, and the game has now gone live at $24.99 with first-week discounts for both new buyers and owners of the original.

Not everything is arriving on schedule, though. The previously announced Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions have been delayed to an unannounced date, a change Telltale confirmed shortly before launch. Here's everything confirmed so far, straight from Telltale's, PM Studios', and the storefronts' own pages.

What is The Wolf Among Us about?

The Wolf Among Us originally released across five episodes in 2013 and 2014, and it remains one of Telltale's most acclaimed narrative games. It's a dark detective thriller built on the premise that characters from classic fables and fairy tales — collectively known as "Fables" — live in secret among ordinary New Yorkers, in a hidden community called Fabletown. You play as Bigby Wolf, the town's sheriff and a reformed version of the Big Bad Wolf, investigating a brutal murder that spirals into a conspiracy touching nearly everyone in the community. The story is inspired by DC's long-running Fables comic series, and it's built around the choice-driven, consequence-heavy dialogue system that defined Telltale's games during that era: who you interrogate, how hard you push, and who you protect all shape how Fabletown's residents see Bigby by the time the credits roll.

The remaster carries the complete five-episode story forward unchanged at the narrative level — this isn't a re-telling or a sequel, it's the same investigation, same choices, and same ending, now running on rebuilt visuals. That's an important distinction from The Wolf Among Us 2, the actual sequel, which picks up after these events and is covered further down.

When does The Wolf Among Us Remastered release?

The Wolf Among Us Remastered launches digitally on October 29, 2026. Telltale's official game page lists the title as "Coming to PC and Consoles on October 29, 2026," and the date is confirmed independently on the game's Steam store listing, its PlayStation Store listing, and PM Studios' own publisher page. There is no specific worldwide unlock hour published by Telltale; Steam's regional unlock windows mean the game may go live at slightly different local times depending on your time zone, but October 29 is the date across every platform that's shipping today.

How much does The Wolf Among Us Remastered cost?

The remaster is priced at $24.99. That figure comes directly from Telltale's own Steam announcement post, which describes "the breakdown of pricing and launch discounts (off the $24.99 price)." Telltale and PM Studios are also running launch-week promotions: new buyers get a discount during the opening stretch, and players who already own the original The Wolf Among Us digitally on the same platform are eligible for a steeper discount off the $24.99 list price. Exact discount tiers have varied slightly by platform and by PlayStation Plus membership status in Telltale's own rollout messaging, so it's worth checking the price shown on your specific storefront before buying rather than assuming a flat percentage everywhere. The underlying list price, however, is consistent across every platform that's live today: $24.99 on PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S alike, with no separate "premium" or "deluxe" edition at launch — the single release includes the full story plus all of the bonus material described below.

A physical edition is planned for later, separate from today's digital launch. Telltale's original reveal said physical copies would "follow later this holiday season," with more recent reporting pointing to an early-2027 window — but as of today's digital launch, no firm physical release date has been confirmed on Telltale's or PM Studios' own pages.

Where can you play it: PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch

  • PC — via Steam and the Epic Games Store
  • PlayStation 5 — via the PlayStation Store
  • Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S — via the Xbox Store, including Xbox Cloud Gaming for subscribers with a qualifying Game Pass tier

Why isn't it on Nintendo Switch today?

Telltale pulled the Nintendo Switch version of The Wolf Among Us Remastered from its October 29 launch lineup shortly before release, saying the team needed extra time to deliver the experience Switch players expect. No replacement date, window, or quarter has been announced, and Telltale's statement did not separately address the status of the Nintendo Switch 2 version, which had also been announced for the remaster back in June. PlayStation, Xbox, and PC are unaffected and remain on the October 29 date. If you're waiting specifically for a Switch copy, your best bet is to watch Telltale's and PM Studios' own channels for the follow-up announcement rather than relying on a specific date floating around online.

What is Noir Mode?

Noir Mode is the headline new feature in this remaster: a complete black-and-white presentation option for the entire game, styled after classic noir cinema. According to the official description on Telltale's and the game's storefront pages, you can "switch between Noir Mode and the fully remastered look at any time" with a single tap, meaning it's not a separate playthrough or a one-time choice — you can flip it on or off scene by scene as you play through Bigby Wolf's investigation. Telltale frames it as turning "every interrogation, back alley, and hard choice" into something closer to a detective film than the original's stylized comic-noir color palette.

Bonus content: deleted scenes, commentary, and more

Beyond the visual overhaul, the remaster bundles in supplementary material that wasn't part of the 2013 original. Per PM Studios' own listing for the game, that includes:

  • More than 60 minutes of behind-the-scenes content
  • Five previously unreleased, playable deleted scenes
  • Developer commentary covering the making of the original game
  • An art gallery spanning concept art from both the 2013 release and this remaster
  • Cast interviews and other archival and restored material

All five episodes of the original story are included, so this is the complete Wolf Among Us campaign in one package rather than a partial re-release.

Who made The Wolf Among Us Remastered?

Telltale is credited as developer, alongside Trick Studios, according to PM Studios' own listing for the game. Telltale and PM Studios are both listed as publishers, with PM Studios handling global publishing, distribution, and go-to-market support for the remaster alongside Telltale. That two-publisher structure is also why you'll see both companies' names across different storefronts and press materials — Telltale's own site leads with its game page and news post, while PM Studios runs a parallel listing with its own storefront links and additional bonus-content detail.

What's actually changed from the original?

Telltale describes the remaster as a full technical and presentational rebuild rather than a simple resolution bump. Officially listed improvements include updated lighting, reworked animation, refined environments, and a modernized interface, on top of the new Noir Mode toggle and the bonus archival material above. If you want a closer side-by-side breakdown of exactly how a remaster can diverge from its source material, Pandromeda's look at how Nintendo's own classic remake stacks up against the original it's based on covers similar ground for a different franchise, and the comparison logic — what's rebuilt, what's preserved, and what's genuinely new — applies here too.

Where to buy The Wolf Among Us Remastered

You can purchase the game today directly through each platform's own storefront: the Steam page and Epic Games Store page on PC, the PlayStation Store listing on PS5, and the Xbox Store listing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. PM Studios' own site also links out to each of those storefronts for convenience. In the run-up to launch, Telltale also posted about a free demo made available on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest, giving PC players a preview of the remastered presentation before today's full release. If you're trying to decide whether to buy now or wait, Pandromeda's broader pricing and pre-order breakdown for another major 2026 release is a useful reference for how launch-week discounts and edition tiers tend to shift in the weeks after a game goes live, which is relevant if you're weighing today's discount against a possible better one later.

Is this the same as The Wolf Among Us 2?

No — and it's an easy mix-up given both were announced together. The Wolf Among Us Remastered, launching today, is a rebuilt version of the original 2013 game. The Wolf Among Us 2 is a separate, still-unreleased sequel that Telltale and PM Studios have targeted for 2027; it is not part of today's release and has no confirmed launch date yet. PM Studios' own page for the remaster notes that choices made in the remastered original are designed to carry forward into the sequel once it arrives, but the two are distinct products on distinct timelines. For another example of how a studio separates a remaster of an older game from a newer, related release, see how Pandromeda covered a recent survival-horror remake against its newer, separately sold counterpart.

What's next

With the digital launch now live on PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, the next concrete milestones to watch are a replacement release date for the delayed Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions, and firmer details on the physical edition Telltale has said will follow the digital release. Neither Telltale nor PM Studios has published a specific date for either yet. Beyond that, attention will increasingly shift to The Wolf Among Us 2, the direct sequel targeting 2027, which remains a separate project from today's remaster. Pandromeda will track official updates on the Switch release and the physical edition as Telltale and PM Studios confirm them.
